Call for Entry; "Paper Cuts"



“Paper Cuts” is a juried cut paper artwork exhibition at the Foundry Art Centre open for artists’ entries through May 17, 2013. 

Paper-cutting is a delicate, tedious art form which requires careful forethought and concentration; “Paper Cuts” will showcase these pieces in Galleries II & III from June 28 – September 27, 2013. 

Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works will be accepted. There is an entry fee of $35 for non-members and $24 for Foundry members and up to three pieces may be submitted for the jury process.

The Foundry Art Centre is a fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River at 520 North Main Center, in the Frenchtown district of Historic St. Charles.  The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions plus 20 working art studios where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists. The not-for-profit art centre also provides community meeting rooms, event space and a children’s art gallery. Call for artists: "Beneath The Covers"



“Beneath The Covers” is a juried exhibition at the Foundry Art Centre exploring the artistic possibilities of one-of-a-kind, handmade books, altered books and book objects. 

Calls for entry are now being accepted and entries will be accepted through May 17, 2013.

 “Beneath The Covers” will showcase book art in Galleries II & III from June 28 – September 27, 2013. 

Artwork must share the three-dimensional quality of a traditional book but can be sculptural, alternative and/or experimental in nature. 

There is an entry fee of $35 for non-members and $24 for Foundry members and up to three pieces may be submitted for the jury process.

Encaustics course at the Foundry Art Centre

Paint, draw, melt, then add paper, texture and much more! The Encaustic Workshop with Lisa Sisley-Blinn is an introductory course that will teach the basics of working with encaustic media. Learn step by step while personalizing your own project! The workshop will take place in the FAC Community Classroom from 10am – 3pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013. The price of the workshop includes a complete supply kit. Class size is limited and advance registration is required. Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats to perform at Foundry

Hudson and the HooDoo Cats have been thriving in St. Louis area performance arenas for over 15 years and will be returning to the Foundry Art Centre stage on Friday, February 15, 2013 by popular demand! 

With their swingin’ shufflin’ blues, 50’s rock and roll and rockabilly, and infectious dance rhythms, Hudson and the HooDoo Cats always ensure a rockin’ fun time.

Canvases and cocktails

The Foundry Art Centre has artful evenings of fun that are great for a date night, girl’s night, or just a friends night out! Canvases & Cocktails is a guided art-making experience. 

Not sure of your artistic talent? New to art? No problem! Our instructor will guide you step by step through the evening's project. Just show up ready to laugh, talk, and have fun!  

Bring your favorite bottle of wine or drink; water & soda will be available for purchase. 

The cost per workshop is $35 and includes personal instruction and all supplies, such as paint and canvas. Workshops are once a month January 17, February 12, March 14, and April 16; each class is from 6pm – 8pm.
